A song I wrote for my girlfriend.

Don't know if cause he's getting older

A lit cigarette, loves singing

Sing him a better verse so he can listen for a hint of sin in it

A sinner sitting like a sentenced prisoner

Sick of all of it that's piled up since he was a kid

So he sinks his meds

Always thinking if

Maybe he's rich, instead

Of all the glitz and glammer

Your words are so raw and passionate and I LOVE IT! Absolutely brilliant. You are an artist if there ever was one. I can't quite rap my head around that line, "Put the past in a box, burn it in the wind till the bandage is gone." Could you elaborate, if you don't mind? I just have a hard time comprehending why there is a bandage on a box...or if the bandage is covering what's inside the box...?

Thank you so much, your comments lift my spirits! So "Put the past in a box, burn it in the wind." Is, put the things you want to forget away in a box or what be it and burn it in the wind as a sort of ritual to let go of it all. The bandage is what ever you needed to use to rid the pain without truly ridding the attachment to the past/memory/whatever it may be. It may leave a scar, but the ritual of burning the box heals the wound enough for the bandage to come off! Thanks again.
