Goodnight Baby Girl (Poem)

Goodnight Baby Girl (Poem)

A Poem by Damien Davison
"

A poem I wrote last night as my friend was comforting his baby to sleep, reminded me of when I would do the same for my daughter at that age...

"
As time passes by
And each night you rest your eyes
I dream of days you'll do the same
If you bring in to this world new life

I wonder what their names will be
A middle mine to honor me
Brightly shining honesty
Purely what I want to be

Each expression on her face
Is true and real cause nothing's faked
Not yet at this early stage
Has she stepped in devious ways

Testing nights she woke up scare
A show of anger wasn't fair
But as my hand stroked her blonde hair
To steal her heart, I wouldn't dare
