![]() Creepy TreeA Poem by Damien Thibodeaux![]() Someone I was traveling with looked across a field from the car window and said, "Look at the creepy tree." This is the result.![]() CREEPY TREE
The wind whispers songs of demise Burden the weight of sins and lies Now before anybody knows There’s only one place left to go I know a place where we can hide Before others find out we’ve died It is a place to stay and wait Until they discover our fate
I’ll meet you there tonight at the creepy tree Our secrets will be kept under lock and key There’s no one there at night except you and me I’ll meet you there tonight by the creepy tree
What we’ve done to be together Shall bind and hold us forever They will never put asunder Even as they put us under And by the time the church bells rang And from these branches where we hang Our names on stones they will engrave When then they’ll lay us in our grave
I’ll meet you there tonight at the creepy tree Our secrets will be kept under lock and key There’s no one there at night except you and me I’ll meet you there tonight by the creepy tree
There’s one more thing I need to say Before it’s time to fade away So to your heart I will confide I’ll meet you on the other side
I’ll meet you there tonight at the creepy tree Our secrets will be kept under lock and key There’s no one there at night except you and me I’ll meet you there tonight by the creepy tree © 2014 Damien ThibodeauxReviews
