Ivan has... a premonition

“Ivan! We can’t stop here, we have to keep moving!” Andrew said.

“He’s right, Ivan, the undead are spreading fast. They could be on us at any moment.” Casey added, but Ivan wasn’t listening. He was staring into the black water of the Central Park Lake, watching the reflection of the moon swivel and contort on the waters surface.

“Look at it.” He said, tilting his head toward the water. Andrew and Casey lowered their guns and walked over, standing alongside Ivan. “What do you think it means?” He asked.

“What the water?” Casey asked.

“Just look at it, one bright spot, in a world of darkness.” Ivan said, continuing to stare at the water.

“Now, don’t get all metaphorical on my a*s.” Andrew said. Ivan elbowed him.

“I’m not, just think about it.”

“I still don’t understand, what are we supposed to be thinking about?” Casey asked again. Ivan smiled, and tilted his head up to look at her.

“What if we, are the bright spot in a world of darkness?”
