Duel

A Chapter by Damac
"

Andrew must fight Ratemeey, an Alien, before the Arc will agree to an alliance.

"
Slosheey and Andrew walked the hallways of the ship. Every group of aliens they passed stopped to stare. Some even said things such as "Fresh meat". Of course unlike Slosheey none of these aliens had learned to speak English so Slosheey was telling Andrew all this.
"Now remember the council does speak your English language so they will most likely speak to you."
"s#%$&."
The two continued their walk along the ship. Slosheey explained who the Patriarch is and how his name sounded similar to the English word Patriarch. Finally they arrived at the door to council chamber. The doors opened very slowly. First a layer of doors rose towards the ceiling, then a row pulled towards the walls, then a row pulled towards the ground, and they were in.

the council chamber was massive. Not only was there coliseum seating along every wall, but there were floating seats that flew high near the ceiling, and every seat was filled.
"How did they know to come?" Andrew asked Slosheey.
"Word spreads fast on this ship."
The Patriarch then entered. He sat upon his throne and turned to look at Andrew and Slosheey.
"Bow, Bow!" Slosheey whispered and Andrew rushed to do so.
"Slosheey, why have you returned to us?" The Patriarch said.
"Because I have made a terrible mistake" Slosheey said "Humans are not he terrible creatures we thought they were they are a powerful and smart race of beings. These child warriors are so by choice not out of an act to defend themselves. They are a race that needs our help not our destructive power."
The Patriarch turned to Andrew "And what do you have to prove your loyalty."
Andrew held out his palm "Alpha-bias, your ships main A.I, I have brought it back to you."
The Patriarch took it "It's a very interesting gift, but no human stole it. Ratemeey reports that the thief was a creature who had cloaking on." He floated towards Slosheey "Was it you Slosheey?"
Slosheey sat for a moment "Yes."
The council erupted in murmuring, "Traitor, enemy" were just two of them many things heard from the crowd.
"Quiet" the Patriarch shouted. He then turned back to Slosheey "Slosheey you have disgraced your entire race, why would you ever come back?"
"We need to ally with the humans. The Kirovium spread is too much to be-"
"Ally with humans?! To save them from something they released."
There was silence then the Patriarch turned to Andrew "Child of our enemy, what is your name?"
"Andrew."
"Andrew. I'll tell you what Andrew, you and Ratemeey will go head to head in the arena. If you win, The Arc will come to the aid of Humans. This is because you will have proven yourself worthy. If Ratemeey wins we will turn off the force field keeping Kirovium contained and will release it on your entire planet. The fate of your entire race hangs in your hands."
The Patriarch began to walk away but Andrew asked "Where is the arena?"
"Right here."
A wall rose up blocking the door and the floating seats flew towards the walls. A force field formed between Andrew and Ratemeey. Slosheey was forced off of the field.
"Cortana, Delta I'm going to need you guys going at 200% for this fight understand."
"Affirmative" they both said.
Andrew then turned to the Patriarch who was floating towards a wall behind him.
"Hey Patriarch."
"Yes."
"By the way, I'm the one who shot and disabled the ship."
As frantic murmurs broke out from the crowd Andrew turned back to face Ratemeey.
"Let’s go b***h."

"You have 1 earth minute to arm yourself." The Patriarch said.
Andrew took his assault rifle off his back. Ratemeey took two lightning rifles of his back. He held them both up wielding one in each hand. The minute ended. Ratemeey immediately rushed forward and smashed Andrew with the bottom of his gun. Andrew fell to the ground and immediately looked up and began to fire. Ratemeey shields deflected the shots and even caused one to almost hit Andrew. Ratemeey started to move to strike Andrew again but he rolled out of the way just in time. Andrew began to fire on Ratemeey as he back away from the alien. But as his bullets had little affect against the shields Ratemeey turned and fired a storm of lightning balls at Andrew. The balls collided with walls and exploded near Andrew, almost hitting him. Ratemeey stopped at one point because it seemed his gun may have overheated. "Delta I need help here!" Andrew shouted during the break in activity.
"I'm working on it." Delta answered.
Ratemeey made a roar and rushed toward Andrew. Andrew waited until he was dangerously close, almost in his face, and then dived out of the way. He ran towards where the coliseum seating started. The front row was high off the ground but Andrew jumped up and managed to climb up anyway. He fired on Ratemeey from the high ground but the shields kept deflecting his shots. Andrew began to run the length of the seats, avoiding all of Ratemeey's lightning balls.
Finally at the end of the row Andrew turned toward Ratemeey and jumped. He landed behind him, spun around and smashed the butt of his gun against Ratemeeys back. The shields dropped and Andrew fired a couple more shots into the back of Ratemeey before he too spun around to face Andrew.
Ratemeey looked down and saw his green blood on the floor. He looked at Andrew and let out the most incredible roar you had ever heard. He then removed from the side of his armor a small object that when he pressed the button on it became a sword. The sword was beautiful. On the two ends of the hilt were two blades that curved in a crescent shape up. In between the two was a third, straight up and down blade.
In between the three blades Andrew could see lightning flowing up towards the tips and knew this must be a lightning sword.
"Andrew duck!" He heard Delta say. The sword passed right over his head.
"Do exactly as I say left, back, right, fire."
Andrew did so, and for almost the rest of the battle he did what Delta said. Then Ratemeey started using his word to deflect the shots.
"Damn were too predictable!" Andrew said.
Andrew then made a break for his right but Ratemeey cut him off and slashed his arm.
"Ahhhhh!" Andrew shouted in pain. Without thinking Andrew stood up and ran towards Ratemeey. He grabbed the hilt of the lightning sword and they too began to fight for it. For a long time the two pulled and pulled on the hilt. Then Andrew kicked Ratemeeys leg. The sudden distraction was enough for Andrew to gain the sword and with one fell swoop stab Ratemeey in the Stomach.

Andrew turned and looked at the Patriarch. Andrew de-activated the sword and placed it around his belt. "Well" Andrew said "are we allies or not."
"Humans have proven themselves worthy" The Patriarch announced "We will now fight on their side. I want Andrews armor integrated with a reflective energy shield."
He then turned towards Andrew "My soldiers are under your command."

After all was done Andrew could not wait to try out his new weapon and armor. He exited the ship followed by 2000 of the Arcs soldiers.
As they all exited the Juggernaut drove up.

Nicole had been very successful, Alex thought. With Payay and his help she had managed to fill up the entire juggernaut and had just dropped those kids off at the motor pool. But now they were faced with a large army of the Arc, and they had Andrew in front! It did not seem like Slosheeys plan had worked. Had he betrayed Andrew? It seemed possible until Andrew said, "They are under my command. They are here to help not fight. Let us on and we will put a stop to Kirovium together!"
"Alright!" Alex said opening the door way.
“Defend the Juggernaut!” Andrew said gesturing toward the large vehicle in front of them. After everyone was on they began to move through the Kirovium landscape. Andrew saw all different types of Kirovium life. There were the spiders and spore trees, but there were also things like creatures that climbed walls or fired Kirovium spores at you. The allies destroyed all however and made their way to the motor pool.
