Dawn of Mourning

Dawn of Mourning

A Poem by Daltin Bydeed

The Dawn of Mourning

The song of morning gently breaks, like waves upon a coagulated shore.

For those whose lives have lost all meaning, their morning has fallen.

The turbid chaos, the drunken sorrow only adds to their dawn of gloom.

Although the shattered mirrors of their soul are caught within the maelstrom,

Hope still exists for something new, something more than the dark they are accustomed to.

Though those shards of hope may be swallowed within the maw of darkness,

One star’s light may reach them.
