A Sleepless DreamA Poem by Daltin Bydeed
A Sleepless Dream We walk within a sleepless dream, Ignorant of the ones outside. We reject the different ones. The ones whose ideas differ from our own. The ones who upset the balance of the dream. The ones who see reality. Are not the different ones, The ones who create change? The ones who make a difference? Because they see past concealed lies? Why then do we reject the different ones? Are we too comfortable? Because we do not want to accept change? Or because we are afraid, Afraid to make a difference, To rise above the mire. Afraid to be hated, rejected, and persecuted. The dream is made by those who are afraid. And we play along, Because we are afraid to speak out. Soon we are caught within the dream. Times will come when we are shocked from this dream. May we have the heart to make the right choice. To rely upon what we believe in. To become different, Have different views, And help shatter the dream. Let us have faith, To wake from dreaming. And have the courage, To make a difference, So others do not fail, And fall into an ignorant, sleepless dream. © 2008 Daltin BydeedReviews
