Soliloquy For/Of the Forgotten

Soliloquy For/Of the Forgotten

A Poem by Daltin Bydeed

We are the lonely ones,
The wolves who howl to that pallid sphere.
We are the quiet ones,
Lost among the rampant crowd.
Touching no one,
Touched by no one.
Sought rarely,
Reached seldom.

We are the forgotten.

Come take a look inside,
Through transparent lenses,
Behind thin doors.

We are the forgotten.

Won't you come?
Won't you look?
See the black emptiness within,
See the darkness not of evil,
But of fear and sadness.

Won't you look?

Behold the impassible ramparts.
Yet here we stand,

Ask us.

Inquire within,
But beware hungry wolves.

Won't you look?

Observe the labyrinth,
Spun about the forgotten.
The wordslinger dying within sealed worlds.

Pray for us.

Watch us,

For we are the silent ones.

Help us,

For we are the lost.

Remember us,
This is our soliloquy.

We are the Forgotten.
