To the half population

To the half population

A Poem by Dalebear

Why can’t people understand us care kids

People are so wrapped up in their own world which god forbids

We deserve a life to

For our dreams and hopes to come true

You have a life where everything is set

Then 2 kids come along you see were a threat

You have no idea what it like being us

Nearly half of the world never does

You have no idea what it likes to be neglected and abused

Being beaten and bruised or sexually used

You have had love all your life

From family, or husband or wife

But we never had it at all

It just been us alone behind our own wall

Do you really want to take that away from us all our hopes?

How on earth you expect us to cope

We are sorry you think we are bad

And to be honest it kind of sad

Your life and world is the real deal

But what about fostering, adoption children we need to be able to heal

Your world and life has a different view

But you don’t understand what we 2 have been through

Think for a second look through our eyes

Then you be shocked and surprised

- i agree with serah - the clarity of thought and expression that you possess is truly incredible - and you've a heart of gold - i have learnt - that when we're hurt and in pain - the only thing to do from thereon - is to be wiser - to be more sensitive - more empathetic - towards the people in our lives - if we let our pain make us question and doubt love or understanding - we let those who hurt us win - and that is the one thing we must never allow - those who hurt us - would be so content to know - that they made us cynical - but if we let the light inside us shine bright - and we embrace love - we win - serah's right there too - victory lies in love and understanding - and it lies in being boundaryless - in our pursuit of excellence - and i know - that you're on your way - bless your heart - and bless your pen!! - you're just amazing!

It feels like those reproachful words come straight out from the bottom of your heart and soul. Yes you are right that most people won't and will perhaps never understand the horrible suffering too many of such poor souls have and still go through. Only real deep love of adoptive family, or the real love of a woman or a man will bring soothing for the beaten soul...

Thought provoking and deeply touching.

.
. brilliantly written and expressed, dale ... your clarity of thought and perception is astonishing ... in india, there is little or no sensitivity for people who have a history of abuse ... and it is hurtful and frustrating ... but the only way to improve understanding is through love and demonstrated excellence ... if we make that effort ... everyone will understand ... if not now ... then eventually ... you will definitely shine and overwhelm this world with your love and excellence ...
