PROGRESSION

PROGRESSION

A Poem by Dale

PROGRESSION

You made me weak then you made me strong
Determined to prove you wrong
From all those slanderous words that went swirling through my head
Until I wished I were dead;
I became strong

Everyday I went to bed knowing I’d grow even more and
Each time I prayed I just asked for another day so I could grow even more

Sweet revenge became my song;
I will go on
I can’t wait to roar.

Enough of your terrifying reign
It’s way too much of a strain
I’m ready for my life to begin again
Progression takes time though
And so I continue to try to push on
Until the day comes when I move on

Deceit and lust rein you like a virgin in love

I watched all my dreams die at your call
Now all I know is regret and memories of sudden death
Forceful feelings of revenge I push out of my head not wanting the devil to be feed.
I think forgiveness instead.

Re-cognant fear of your next fit
Where thunderous bliss is truly missed
I want to dismiss, regroup, navigate through
Changing routes and missing you.
