How can I love this Man?

How can I love this Man?

A Poem by Dale

My need for love is so strong yet I feel I can't go on

how can I love this man?

Please make me understand

Why would I be such a fool

I certainly went to school

No circumstance, no sense, and the unrelenting suspense

A different place a different time

I may not have been so blind

Lord! how can I love this man?

Please make me understrand

If I stay or if I go, he would never even know

His desire for me has passed

his heart is permeable like glass

his eyes wonder vildly

his crown jewel idles mildly

my heart cries out rowdily

How can I love this man?

A man I really can't stand

HIs forgetfulness is obscured

His relentlessness is so pure

Confusion takes hold

Once again I let go

Like a king on his throne

Me, the queen at his feet

The love between the two of us will never repeat.

We can't help who we love. It just happens to be that way. Keep writing, good poem. Thank you for sharing. Debileah

I liked your poem, i guess its like bad milk with some relationships, you go to the fridge and find its still bad milk like yesterday , and it still tastes bad, yet we put it back and check tomorow to see if by some chance it isnt rotten the next morning.... , Keep writing Dale and I'll keep reading em

Really powerfull wow. Is that how you feel about someone because if so, I'd hate to be that person. Keep on writting.

i dnt quite seem to capture the meaning of the phrase "his crown jewel idles mildly" it kind of bears no relevance to the topic at hand yet...to everything there is purpose...and i cant begin to criticize ones poetic symbolisms for all is beautiful in perspective...

Sounds like you regret loving this man, that he's not healthy for you. I've pursued women long past the time when they had stopped being interested in me. It's not that they gave off the wrong signals, it's that I wasn't looking at the signals they gave off.

And yes, I also agree that this could very easily be lyrics to a song.

Hi Dale, I thought it was great and I for one can surely relate. I've asked the same question in my last relationship for nearly 5 years ... wonderfully written ... hugs

Welcome to the Cafe.

As I was reading the first stanza the thought jumped out at me that this is a song in a Broadway show. It would be perfect. So print it, head over to 42nd Street, and start knocking on doors : >)
Would that it were that easy, huh?

I just visited NYC for the first time in May. I was amazed! We went to two Broadway shows, had dinner at Les Josephine, saw the Singing Cowboy in Times Square... it was great!
