Drawing the Picture

Drawing the Picture

A Poem by Murisaka
"

A Creative Slump

"
it starts with a thought
then a line
before you know it
your on number nine.
you darken it in
but try to keep it thin
and that was mistake number one.
now this drawing is done
in the trash it goes
from your can no one will ever know.

on the next piece of paper
its almost complete
but this was not your original image
this one can not even compete
mistake number two was letting the paper age.
now the story is done
you pull the trigger
and you've won

third times the charm
at least thats what you hope
but after all this time has passed
you hope your memory can cope.
mistake number three
trying to make poetry
where there is not a creative bone
in all of your body.
light the match
and watch it burn
for this piece of poetry
has overstayed its turn.

its a creative slump
you cant do a thing
so you sit back with high hopes
and begin to sing.
you listen once
record it again
finally that creative smirk
has come to a grin.
the strings are plucked
on a guitar and bass too
as a drum beat pounds in your head
as you sing in your bed.

the spark comes back
as life goes on
your creative spark
is right on track.
theres not a mistake
its almost alive you think
now you can imagine
what this wondrous image is
before your next blink.
