in eulogy

For my uncle...

Happy birthday
or at least thats what i would say
over the phone on this very day
you lived so far from me
and my main family
yet you touched my life
and gave it a strong direction.
I love you
my Uncle
the one that remained in contact
when all the others decided not to.
I just wish that your time had lasted longer,
so much longer than the meager 51
that you managed to grow to.
You had faith in me
as much
or more than that
of my whole family
but you were taken away,
away before i had the chance to say
what i wanted to say.
To thank you for being there
when i needed you most
you were more of a brother
than my actual brother is
and this is all i can do to say
thank you;
for being there
for giving me guidance when i needed it
for being part of my family
and for touching my life.
I thank you
my dear uncle,
and where ever you may be in the afterlife
I hope this will reach you.

my uncle actually died in March but i wanted to wait until his Birthday to do this, to leave this in his memory.
