the new face of war

the new face of war

A Poem by Murisaka

Time has passed
the talks are now over
both sides never agreed
but they still disagreed.
the two small countries
one of black
the other of white
had started a war
but decided how to fight.
the blood bath will begin shortly
but only bodies will fall
not a single drop will spill
not a one will touch the wall.
This dirty little war
will take place
in minds
not on fields
or with guns
or any other mechanical
fighting beast.
It will be the start
of the psychic wars
where the scars
will be nowhere
that can be seen.
the death will be mortally wounded
but the pain is only in their head
the pathetic
frail
and fragile
will fall
faster than a nail.

the world has reconvened
to stop the war short
ending most of the killing
but leaving many battles to their work.

technically isnt it an improvement, though, that people dont hate others enough to kill them? i mean, granted racism is bad, im not saying its not, but i feel as though in the long run id prefer stereotypes and name-calling to, i don't know, genocide. just something to think about. that being said, nice poem (: i think some of the lines should have been longer, combine some phrases instead of putting one or two words on a line for most of the poem. i can see why, like, 'frail' is on one line but some of the others, not so much. aand thats all i have to say haha
