CHAPTER 3

 Sit down. Go on sit down.

Jeshua sits down and the collar on his neck emits a slight shock with the light turning yellow, the first stage of caution.

" Ah, f**k! " Jeshua shouted. " What the hell? "

I didn't say 'Sylus says', see you've already failed and the game has just begun! Tsk, tsk, tsk! Your collar has changed from green to yellow as well, do be careful and follow my direction, Jess, will ya?

" You never said that you were playing the game right now! " Jeshua yelled. " How was I to know?

Jess, the game started immediately after I gave a briefing on the rules. Its not my fault that you're not ready.

Sylus says; Stand up!

Jeshua hobbles up on one leg, standing up.

Very good. I will reset your collar to its previous color.

Jeshua looks down at his collar and sees that it has changed from yellow back to green and his leg has been magically healed.

Sylus says move your left leg.

Jeshua obeys the order and moves his left leg.

Awesome! Now, Sylus says move your right leg.

Jeshua moves his right leg.

Great! Now, turn around.

Jeshua turns around and feels a shock and all his limbs go numb and crippled.

" Aaaaaaaaaaah, s**t! " Jeshua yelled, falling down to one knee.

I didn't say 'Sylus says'.

Jeshua looks at his collar and notices that it has changed from green to orange, the second stage of caution.

" Why did my collar change from green to orange? " Jeshua asked.

When you failed to follow orders the first time your collar changed to yellow, then you followed orders and it changed back to green, but then you failed to follow another order and it changed from green to orange. The reason for this is because since you failed the last time and it changed to yellow the system believes that instead of giving you yellow again they'll drop you down to orange. If you follow these next orders I guarantee that your collar will change to its previous color.

" If I didn't know better I'd say that you were trying to kill me. " Jeshua said.

Maybe, maybe not. Walk forward.

" Is that an order? "

Yes, walk forward.

" I'm not following that order.

Why not? Its an order you have to follow it unless you want to die.

" You didn't say 'Sylus Says'. " Jeshua said.

Very good. I shall reset your collar to its previous color.

Jeshua looks down and sees that the collar has changed back from orange to yellow and two of his limbs; the left leg and the right arm are magically restored to health, leaving the right leg and the left arm to suffer.

Alright, Jess, its time to shake things up a bit.

Sylus; Jeshua's inner voice creates a sword and shield in the center of the room for Jeshua to take.

Sylus says; Grab the sword and the shield in the center of the room.

Jeshua approaches the Iron sword and the Iron shield taking them from off the pedestal.

Sylus says; Defeat the hordes of ShadowBeasts that are in the room with you.

" What? " Jeshua said, confused.

Suddenly, Jeshua hears the sounds of ferocious growling and when he looks forward he sees a horde of nasty, horrifying looking shadows. Jeshua lands the first attack, eliminating his first ShadowBeast with a strike to the mid-section and then up to its neck. The other ShadowBeasts begin to proceed towards Jeshua and he disposes of them all.
