CHAPTER 2

Moments after Salaro is long gone, time stands still momentarily as a black hole appears around Jeshua. The black hole swallows him up and the fabric of time returns back to a steady pace.

Jeshua awakes to total complete darkness.

" Where am I? " Jeshua asked, staring at complete darkness. Jeshua could hear his voice echoing off the walls as he slowly got up to his feet in tremendous pain from that attack that he received from the former King of Valencia; Salaro for his failure to eliminate the current King Frank.

Jeshua started touching and feeling his way through the darkness, but all he could feel was a wall. Jeshua continued to look for a way out of this darkness but to no avail found nothing.

" Hello? " Jeshua yelled. " Is anyone here? "

Jeshua could once again hear his own echo traveling throughout the place.

" I can't see a damn thing! " Jeshua yelled. " There's got to be a torch or some source of light so as I can see where I'm going.

Jeshua started walking, searching for a torch and after ten minutes of wondering around in what seemed like a circle he finds nothing.

" YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! " Jeshua yelled. " WHERE IN THE HELL IS A TORCH WHEN YOU NEED ONE?! "

Jeshua realized, just ten minutes after failing to find a torch or some source of light that he was only talking to himself and that there was no one else here.

" I REALLY DON'T LIKE TO BE IN THE DARK BY MYSELF FOR TOO LONG. " Jeshua yelled to no one in particular. " YOU START TO LOSE YOUR MIND AND GO CRAZY! "

What Jeshua didn't know is that he was already losing his mind. The darkness had ever so quickly absorbed so much of his sanity that his mind was beginning to play tricks on him. Jeshua continued walking around in the room of darkness hoping to stumble across something or another that would help him see where he was going. Jeshua still finds nothing that can help him, driving his mind to go mad and allowing him to hear voices from within his head talking to him.

" Ha ha ha ha! " Jeshua's inner voice laughs. " Having fun roaming around in darkness not ever seeing the light, not ever knowing where you are or where to go? Are you lost like a puppy trying to find its way home?

" Who's there? " Jeshua asked, startled by the voice and looking all around him. " Is somewhere there? "

Please, don't be alarmed, friend, just call me 'Sylus X' your best friend trapped inside your mind. Do you want to play a game with me?

" Sylus, come out! " Jeshua yelled. " Show yourself! I have no time to play games! "

I'm already here, in your head, mind-f****n' your brain!

" Stop playing around! " Jeshua cried. " I know someone is here! I keep hearing a voice! COME OUT AND SHOW YOURSELF! "

Are you okay, Jess? Have you lost your mind? Are all your dogs not barking? Do you need to go to your happy place?

Jeshua grabs ahold of his head and kneels down on one knee. " COME OUT, I SAY! STOP PLAYING GAMES WITH ME! COME OUT AND FACE ME LIKE A MAN AND NOT LIKE A COWARD! "

Sylus; Jeshua's inner voice laughs before speaking to him again.

I'm already here, see? Look behind you, Jess.

Jeshua takes his hands off of his head, gets up and looks behind him, seeing nothing but familiar darkness. Sylus; Jeshua's inner voice laughs.

" I MEAN IT! " Jeshua yelled.  " COME OUT AND SHOW YOURSELF! "

You're funny Jess, you know that? How you keep repeating the same thing over and over again, knowing that I'm right here.

" I'm funny huh?! " Jeshua shouted.  " You enjoy messing with the minds of the innocent? I've done nothing to you! Why are you doing this to me, huh? This isn't funny to me! "

Jeshua sits on the ground and starts crying. " I JUST WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE AND GO HOME! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? "

Hey, Jess, get ahold of yourself. You don't want to play with me? Come on, let's play a game----

" I don't want to play a game! " Jeshua yelled. " I want get out of this darkness!

Sylus; Jeshua's inner voice ignores him and continues on speaking.

I know what game we can play! Let's play, 'Sylus says'! Yeah, its a play on to the childhood classic 'Simon Says', let's see how good you are at listening and following instructions. Come on, Jess, it'll be fun, I promise.

" I don't want to play any games right now I want to---- hey what's that beeping noise? " Jeshua asked.

Jess, you're going to play this game with me or else you will perish here. Look at the new trinket that I have placed around your neck! Do you like it?

Jeshua looks down to see a metal collar with several green lights flashing slowly around his neck.

" How'd you manage to get this collar around my neck without me seeing you? "

Oh, Jess, I think you've really lost your mind! This collar has always been around your neck you just weren't paying attention. Now, we're going to play 'Sylus says' and you have to do what I say or else that collar will release a shocking impulse to your body which is so strong and powerful that your body will explode from the ferocity of the electricity, not to mention that the color will change from safe to danger each step of the way. When the collar is green, you're safe. When the collar is yellow you're at the first stage of caution and will receive a slight shock, be a bit more careful. When the collar is orange you're in second-hand caution and all your limbs will be crippled, beware death is soon upon you! When the collar is red you might as well kiss your a*s goodbye because this is the end of you, you will receive a tremendous wave of electricity that will ravage your body exploding you into a billion, gazillion pieces! So, with all that being said, the instructions of this game are very simple; just listen to what I say and do it, failure to do so will change the color on your collar. Oh, and by simply not listening to what I say and doing nothing will result in the color on your collar dropping from green to red instantly, resulting in death for you! You should be fine as long as you follow my orders. Are you ready to play?

" I guess, yeah. " Jeshua said, trying to mess with his collar.

Jeshua feels a sharp numbness in his left leg just before it cripples and go limp.

" Ah, s**t! " Jeshua shouted. " My leg,  my f****n' leg! "

Don't mess with that collar! Your body will thank you for it!
