Brag Your Brokeness

If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. 2 Corinthians 11:30

I heard a man bragging the other day.

He spoke proudly on how he’s been cleaned from watching pornography for an entire year.

I thought to myself, “Wow, God must be really pleased with this type of bragging.”

No addiction for a whole year.

When I brag I sometimes standardize my achievement and compare it to the records set by others.

But wow, this man is bragging about advancing in a height set by God.

How often do you think about how much closer you are to being like Christ?

We often think about things like graduating college, marriage, or weight loss as big goals.

But the desperate desire for these types of achievements may be hurting God.

We idolize things like this in our social media, our personal interactions, but most importantly in our hearts.

This is why we must pray and ask God for encouragement to think of Christ as the highest goal. 

We have an entire eternity awaiting us to be glorified for the completion of Christ in our accomplishments.

But we only have this life to strive for Him whole heartedly.

As Christians we can be more adamant about glorifying progression in Christ.

Don’t let anyone confuse you.

We (YOUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS IN CHRIST) are not ashamed of the power of God.

WE WANT TO SEE MORE OF IT.

Share your accomplishments with those who want to hear it.
