My Flower Girl

My Flower Girl

A Poem by Dai Edenburough

One day, the flower girl came to me,

bringing with her a single flower.

And telling me that I am her one and only.

As I took the gracious flower, it began to rain.

Filling the air with many beautiful sents.

I closed my eyes, inhaled deeply and opened them slowly.

Only to see that my flower girl was no longer there.

Yet the flower remained in my hands. I closed my eyes

once again and shed a single tear. Only to wake and

realize that i was dreaming of my far away dear.
