Poetic MusicA Poem by Dai EdenburoughI wrote this while listening to a bunch of bluesy/sad songsMusic is the core of my being, Poetry is me trying to make the music. So beautiful, Soulful, like "Tuesday Gone With The Wind", By the greatest musicians of all time, Lynyrd Skynyrd Poetry is a way to express My Blues, my Joy, my Anger, Myself. Music, my greatest Friend. The only one that will be there with me at Ricky Nelson's "Garden Party". I guess I've learned my lesson now. Listening to moody bluesy music, Writing poetry, that is what I'm doing tonight. Wishing for that special person to be sitting beside Me In my room writing poetry with me. But She's so far away from Me. There's no better way than the way Dire Straights puts it. "You're so far away from me, You're so far I just can't see." Yet when I start goin' down Gordon Lightfoot's "Carefree Highway" We will see each other soon. And I agree with Mr. Lightfoot when he said. "The thing I call Livin' is just being Satisfied, And knownin' I'v got no one left to blame." So I will continue to slip away, Slip away to the "Four Walls Of Raiford" I am comin' home to you Jesus, Save Me from those that wish to destroy Me. Even though I am one of America's Heroes. So help Me search for "My Blue Angel", And if You find Her, tell Her that Heaven without Her Feels like Hell, tonight. So I will keep searchin' in and out of those Honky Tonks, From one town to the next. As I search, I shall continue to be Strong. Continue trying, Trying to make music out of words. Music of words for Her. So please my sweet love, Won't you come back home? Baby won't you come back home?
