Decomposition.

Decomposition.

A Poem by De3stroy

retrospect crawls up your spine
and i can see your regret,
can see it in your eyes.
maybe i'm wrong,
for the reflection
i see in your eyes is one
i mistake for life.
and you're way past dead.
no one can help you.
now there is no one to soothe your pain.
the moment you lost your love,
the ability to love.
you lost your life.
you can't even sink or swim.
only float like a rotted corpse.
you've never been more alone.
you've never been more content.
water-logged and weighed down by worms
you float on,
enjoying the change of scenery.
unfortunately the further you go,
the harder it is to return.
enjoy your new surreal life.
the charm always fades.
never, you'll never come back.
you've never been more alone.
you've never been more content.

all you want is my flesh.

Much in agreeance (Is that a word? I dunno. Haha) with the previous two reviewers, the decay is ominous and forbidding, yet your words have a way of saying "Come in closer, keep reading". The closing is perfect to fit the rest of the work, magnificent poem indeed.

I completely agree with Crow. :) I imagine NIN playing to this poem. It flows so wondrously. Not only is it a magnificent poem, but I truly believe it could be turned into a beautifully poetic song.

I was moved by this excellent piece about decay, this could apply to so many aspects of a living entity; be it organic or social.

I cannot express home much I truly enjoy your work.
