Playin' Chicken With A Train Again

Playin' Chicken With A Train Again

A Poem by Poetic Injustice

I'm playing chicken with a train again

Somehow the train always wins

Maybe something's wrong with my brain

Havin' trouble seein' where it begins

~~~~~
Seemed harmless enough when it started
Flirtatious laughter and games
I used to count limbs to see if they parted
When I first played chicken with trains
~~~~~

 I've been a trainwreck, at times

Been a victim and a perpetrator of crimes

Now I stare `em down with no fear

They can wreck but not me, dear

~~~~~
And I've ridden my fair share
Jumped on a moving one on a dare
But you gotta know when to jump off, jack
Before the train jumps the track
~~~~~

So, are you my next trainwreck, sweetheart?

I'll walk away without a scratch, today

Letting you play your dramatic part

And I'm whole because I walked away

~~~~~
(work in progress? maybe ... maybe not) ;0P
Work in progress? I say not.. It's a great metaphorical piece. You have an awesome, clear cut writing style. Like this piece a great deal. High-Five!!
