Still In My Dreams

Lyrics of an ongoing theme I can't seem to shake (right now)

I saw you the other night in my bed

You smiled at me after we made love and we laughed and sang again

As sweet as the time before that still echoes in my head*

Then I awoke to lonliness once more, instead

But I still smiled, as the dream came back to me

Came back to me like you never will in reality

The good times that we shared will be their own legacy

For time to time you're here, still, in my dreams

You never dream, or if you do you don't remember

As life moved on your passion for me became a burnt out ember

Yet I'm grateful for the time you shared with me

Each moment is a cherished memory

And I smile , as the dream comes back to me

And from time to time you're with me in my dreams

This was just so beautiful. Memories cherished. It really is a wonderful thing to remember those memories without regrets and be able to think/dream about them with fondness every now and then, even though there may be a touch of sadness. Bittersweet feeling. Excellent piece of writing...It flowed flawlessly....

You're left with smiles, memories and feelings that no man can take away from you. Bearing in mind it took the two of you to make all of these together, so that in itself is so very special. Some folks are never allowed to even experience this...you were chosen. The pain is no good...so don't allow it in (if possible) to taint your wonderful memory. A beautiful, passionate write. Beautifully lyrically poetic work attesting to the power of memories. The cherished past that creeps back during the night to once again remind us of what was and no longer exists, except in our dreams. But to keep that memory alive during the state of sleep is to be able to once again feel all the wonderful sensations of a love that is no longer tangible in the light. The touch of a dream can reignite the cold embers of love and are the inspirations for a good love song. "Echo's indicative of an empty head?" No they represent the refrain of poetic love. Keep the words flowing.

Losing something (or someone) special to you and then still having joy in your heart. Something you don't see often, when most people never get over that original pain of love and lust. Not honest and full of truth yet very moving and emotional.
