This Is Your Brain, This Is Your Brain On Love

This Is Your Brain, This Is Your Brain On Love

A Poem by Poetic Injustice

I think my brain is scrambled

No wait, I lied, I think it's fried

Maybe it's an omlet of mis-er-y

Sometimes it makes me wish it died

`Cause when you're brain-dead, there's peace

You may be just a drooling vege-ta-ble

But you'd be contented, at least

Not caring how it  hurts more than you thought able

~~~~~
This is your brain, this is your brain on love
When you love someone that doesn't even care
Or not more than her own selfish needs, if she does
When you're living out a romance on a dare
How dare you put your brain on love
~~~~~

I think my brain is toasted

Burnt around the edges at the top

Or maybe it's thoroughly roasted

All I know is I wish that it would stop

Missing or thinking about you endlessly

Making me want what'll never be

Dinner is served but you're having none

But I think now my brain is done

~~~~~
This is your brain, this is your brain on love
When you love someone that doesn't even care
Or not more than her own selfish needs, if she does
When you're living out a romance on a dare
How dare you put your brain on love
Brain on Love ??? mmmm a dare indeed !! Yeah..it,s easy to take the option of switching off and being brain dead almost...but what's the fun in that ? Then again...sometimes... what we want and what we get are two different things. We want to be able to cope, in our head, but sometimes it's just not allowed. So unfair. However...this is very well presented with lots of emotions. Thanks for sharing JD.
This kind of love turns to hate very quickly- I'm an expert on love turned hate- trust me. Been there, done that and walked away happily.
As for your piece- You've left absolutely nothing out. WELL SAID!!
I think this was both amusing and playful, but with a really sad undertone to it.. Yes, there should probably be some kind of 'off'-button when it comes to unrequited love, but I'm sure there would be a downside to that too. I'll have to give it some more thought ;) Thanks for sharing.
Magnificent piece so well expressed my friend. You made something light into something nicely written.
I love this! Very nicely done :)
The rhyming is catchy and flows very well, I'm envious :)
