Chin Up

Chin Up

A Poem by Poetic Injustice

"Chin up!, " they say

As though they

Shared my chin

Or what's within

My heart and mind

Though they may find

I'm merely crying

As a means of trying

To let go of

Unrequitted love

So I may begin

To love again

So let me hurt

Leave me in the dirt

I'll again rise

And wipe my eyes

And breathe in deep

The faith I'll keep

That love does not reside within

My chin

Always loathed that saying . . . so vague and without compassion . . .

An amazing piece, Jay . . . very relatable . . .

"So let me hurt
Leave me in the dirt
I'll again rise
And wipe my eyes"

LOVE these lines, as the entire poem!

FANTASTIC!

A new favorite :)
