Lost

Lost

A Poem by Poetic Injustice

I'm the world's worst navigator

Just ask my friends

Missed exits, wrong turns

And quite often dead-ends

On an endless journey

Never finding what I seek

Until it's too late for me

And the trip leaves me weak

Lost opportunities

Never come again

And once they escape me

I can but regret them

But the search goes on still

As my time runs out

And through but force of will

I manage to turn about

Thinking I hear or see

An echo from my past

Someone who once wanted me

I heard the sound, at last

See the tear-stain, never wiped

I arrived a bit too late

The house is empty in the night

I am lost, it is my fate

Wow this is really enjoyable to read ( read it a number of times ) it flows with great emotion but in the end you sound resolved, and willing to live with your lot in life.Well done!!! You are quite expressive in everything i have read of yours. Will read more for sure!
