Matter Of Time

Matter Of Time

A Poem by Poetic Injustice

She sings, "Take what I give but don't take more.

Our time is precious, no telling what life has in store.

When we're together

It's our forever

What we have is fine

You know it's  just .... a matter of time."

~~

He sings, "I've always loved you as you are

Even if that love is from afar

When we're together

It's our forever

What we have is sublime

And I know it's just .... a matter of time."

~~

They sing, "The gifts we give and take

Don't come with guarantees

Appreciate and don't forsake

Don't ruin for selfish needs

Each moment that we get

Is priceless, don't forget

You're always there ... though apart

I can find you ... in my heart"

~~

She sings, "I can only give you what I can.

The only thing I ask is for you to understand.

The feeling you have I share with you.

We can only do what we can do."

~~

He sings, "I've grown and learned to be content

And appreciate the time we've spent.

I worry less about tomorrow

I'll keep my smile, forget the sorrow

When we're together

It's our forever."

They sing, "Baby, it's just ... a matter of time."

Poetic Injustice
I didn't intend it as a duet. After it was finished ... well .... that's what it became.

Very unique Dag. It was actually kinda sad for some reason. I guess we all hate those moments that are wonderful and beautiful, and we KNOW they will be ending, and it's all we can do to keep from losing it over the thought of it ending. This was my favorite line....
"Appreciate and don't forsake
Don't ruin for selfish needs"

I rather enjoyed the duet part of this. It was like watching a classic, old movie. Nice job!

Jay, I do believe this is my favorite of yours. The flow and rhyme are great, but what I like the most is the content. Such a calming effect.... a peaceful acceptance of the inevitable, whatever that may be.

Lovely :)
