(Love)Song

(Love)Song

A Poem by Poetic Injustice
"

Irony is writing a lovesong about not writing a lovesong.

"

My heart wants to sing you a song
That you're not ready to hear
I've wanted to sing it for so long
Wanted you to hold it dear
But there's a word that you can't say
That you don't want on my lips
Don't suppose there'll come a day
You won't shush me with your fingertips
~
How do you write a wordless (love) song?
How do you sing without saying a thing?
But I've learned and it didn't take long
Let you be my instrument I'll pluck your heartstring
~
(Love) songs come a dime a dozen
They've been around for years
But lyrics can't convey my (lov)ing
Often they just bring out tears
They lose their meaning
Are forgotten over time
Or become mindless singing
Keeping meter, keeping rhyme
~
What I feel can't be sung in a song
Let my actions do the thing
And in them do no wrong
With you as my instrument I can pluck heartstring
~
You are my (love) song
You are my (love) song
Wordlessly it stays strong
For you are my (love) song
