Rest Of My LifeA Poem by Poetic InjusticeIf I promise to love you for the rest of my life would you stick around and make me prove it? Cause I'd hate to see you walk away though I like the way you move it. You've ruined me for others, can't you see? I don't wanna live without you. So if I promise to love you for the rest of my life would you stick around to see if I do?
She looked at me, her face showed glee and she said she sure could do it. She said she'd even help me along to make sure I could prove it. Cause she knew just how to do the job when it came to killing me. So when it came to loving her til the day I died, she volunteered willingly.
So the honeymoon was one helluva night, just a day before my wake. It was worth it, I'll tell you, she gave me more than any man could take. And with a smile I held my love until I passed away. I loved her with all my heart until my dying day.
If I promise to love you for the rest of my life would you stick around and make me prove it? Cause I'd hate to see you walk away though I like the way you move it. You've ruined me for others, can't you see? I don't wanna live without you. So if I promise to love you for the rest of my life would you stick around to see if I do? © 2008 Poetic InjusticeFeatured Review
