Chapter Five

Nikki


I seen Ceara hit the pavement and I rushed over to where she lay.

"Kate! Quick, help me!!" I tried to wake Ceara up, but her eyes stayed in the back of her head.

"What do you want me to do? I don't know how I can wake her up." Katie sounded so upset that I wanted to go hug her, but I was busy trying to wake up Sunshine. Her pulse was beating, but I couldn't wake her.

"Here, let me." Griffin nudged me away and lifted Sunshine up and then was gone.

"Kate, where did he go with her?!" I turned frantically to Shadow, but she just stood there staring helplessly at the ground, first where Ty was, then where Cee was lying a moment ago. She looked like she was about to breakdown.

"Oh Hun!" I rushed to her and threw my arms around her. We cried into each other's shoulder. I vaguely remember promising her that everything would be ok, and that we will find Ty. I just hope all that I said was true.

"Don't worry about Ceara, I took her to her room. Have either of you been inside there? It is totally kick a*s." Griffin appeared behind us, making both of us jump. I think I jumped more because I think that is the most I have ever heard Griffin speak.

"Ok, We need to get back to the house so Ceara doesn't wake up alone. Then we need to figure out how to track down the demons that took Ty. Now Griffin, would you be able to track them?" I asked him, praying he would. He walked over to where the demons where and got close to the ground and sniffed.

"I have their sent, I could follow it and tell you where it leads." He looked up at me questioningly. I nodded, and he took off. I turned Kate around and together we headed back to the house.



Griffin

I followed the demons' trail for what seemed like hours. I went through many cities and abandoned towns before the trail finally stopped. It lead to the beach, the trail ending at the water. I looked out and couldn't see much of anything. I used my vampire eyes and zoomed in. About ten miles from shore was an island. It looked like there was a castle sitting on the island, and many many demons walking about.

"Damn." I returned my eyes to their normal vision and turned to go back to Nikki, Kate, and Ceara to tell them what I found.




Kate


I was numb. First Ty was taken, now Cee seems to have gone into some weird coma thing. She passed out earlier, and five hours later still has not woken up. Well she was up for a little bit, but she just layed there. She was like an empty shell. She passed out again shortly after that, and hasn't been up since. She keeps talking in her sleep, moaning and screaming too. I wonder what she is dreaming about to make her scream like that. Griffin went to go follow the demons' trail, but he hasn't come back yet. I hope nothing has happened to him too. I don't know how much more of the whole disappearing of the people I love that I could take. Griffin was right, Cee's room was majorly kick a*s. It was a like a dungeon in here... how they got to get it like that, I will never know. Now I wonder what Dagger's looks like.

"Kate! Come quick, Griffin is back!" I charged out of Cee's room and tackled Griffin.

"Where! Did you find them? Tell me you found them!" I begged him. He just grinned at me.

"I love you too Kate, and I am glad that I am safe and didn't get taken too." Now I felt guilty. I horrified everyone, including myself by breaking down in tears. Through my tears I saw Griffin's face go from a teasing grin to a shocked and horrified look. If I wasn't in the process of bawling my eyes out, I would have started laughing.

"Kate, I'm sorry. I was just joking babe. Please don't cry." He hugged me tight to my body and pressed his lips to my temple. Well I stopped crying and tried to remember how to breath.

"Griffin, could you please tell us so we could come up with a plan?" Nikki said from somewhere to the left.

" Sure... after I find something to eat. I need food." I let him up to get food. He vanished and five seconds later reappeared with vodka and a slice of pizza.

"Well it is one hell of a hike from here. About three counties over and about ten miles from shore is an island with a fortress on it. With demons crawling all over the place. Not only that I caught a glimpse of the flags." He threw down a piece of paper that had a drawing on it. I picked it up and looked at the curvy lines trying to figure out the form. I was still very upset and it took me a minute before I realized that it was a phoenix. It took me another minute before I knew what this meant.

" Well F**k!!" We were screwed... majorly screwed.
