Prologue

As I watched the four hot teenage boys skate, I recalled what my sister asked me about love.

“ Tyanne, how do you know if your in love?” My golden sister asked me. My sister has golden blond hair and light brown eyes and golden tan skin, so she really is a golden child. I looked at her for a minute, seriously considering this. My friends Nikki and Katie were with us and they stopped to listen to my ingenious answer.

“ I think i’ll know it’s love when looking at him doesn't make me sick.” I answered. We all fell into fits of laughter, rolling around on the fuzzy blue carpet. My friend Katie looks like me. She has pale, clear skin with black hair that has natural reddish hues, while mine is just black. She has dark brown, almost black eyes, while mine are like a dark green. Her nickname is Shadow, because she can sneak up on you and you not know it. Shadow can get into a locked house without breaking anything. She somehow Houdini’s herself into and out of the house. She moves like a shadow in the night, hence the nickname Shadow. Nikki, who is Katie’s sister is the opposite of Katie. She looks like my sister; golden. Nikki has golden brown eyes and brown hair with natural blond- silver highlights. She has golden tan skin because she is the one always in the sun. Her nickname is Honey, because she reminds us of honey. But we are not talking about her attitude. My friend Nikki then turns to me and looks at me seriously.

“Well then Tyanne, what are your views on boyfriends?” She asked me, even though she already knew the answer because it was an inside joke. I tried to look at her seriously as I answer her.
“ Well Nikki, boys are like lollipops. You suck them, and then dump them.” My sister screeches and chucks a pillow at me while Nikki and Katie fall into heaps of laughter.

As I pull out of my memory, I became aware of one of the boys talking to me.

“Hey Kitten, want to come over here and have some fun?” He looked so confident, sitting there among his friends and smirking at me. I just had to lower his ego.

“ Earlier this week I helped the old folks, I think I have done enough charity for one week.” Instantly his smile vanishes as I stalk past him and down the street. I hear him calling after me. I think I pissed him off, oh well. I walk into the woods and stretched my muscles. I walked a little bit farther and then stop. I close my eyes and concentrate. I feel my muscles burn and stretch, then my spine pops in and out of place. When everything stills, I stalk into the green bushes, my tail twitching behind me. Oh yeah, another thing about me, my sister, and my friends is that we all can turn into an animal at will. My sister is a Lioness, Katie is a Raven, Nikki is a Falcon, and I am a Tigress and together we form a group of huntresses that hunt rogue vamps and demons, though no one knows we can turn into animals at will or that we hunt rogue vamps and demons, so shhhhh, keep this a secret between you and me and come read our story.
