Praying for Continuance

Praying for Continuance

A Poem by Day West
"

A little poem about the angst of being in love... It's old and I'm just putting it in here for fun!

"

The absolute terror of giving in

The paranoia spinning my head

The fact that it feels a bit like sin

Nothing that will fill your stead

The quickening of my breath

While repeating images of you

Probably even to my death

Your ghost will haunt me too

Don‘t let the fears come to pass

Don‘t let anything destroy us

Never say to me alas

It wasn’t supposed to be thus

Fortune’s unpredictable wheel

The cups are overflowing

I would even beg and kneel

For continuance without owing

For there must be a price

And how can I pay

Surely not with air and ice

My only choice is to pray
