The Fall of the Tower

The Fall of the Tower

A Poem by Day West
"

This poem describes the amazing feeling you get when you finally get over that awful break-up and see that your life is far from over.

"

Now I can feel for real that it’s over

After all the crime is done, now‘s the time

When we truly part in heart and moreover

We will not be chaste and waste our prime

But instead we‘ll stop to shed some tears

To honour our final hour of shared unity

And we will shout this out for all ears

A call for every small and large entity

For all will feel the power of the tower fall

And after the era of laughter will commence

And the merriment will be heaven sent in the hall

There we will share a drink and a dance

And celebrate all the great and lost moments

Before marching onwards arching forward

And not back. The lack of a person who rents

Our heart and soul and mind we’ll find hard

But we will be brave and never grave always.

The tower is gone but the dawn will never cease

To be.  Instead there grows fair a forest of grace

Where we will have care to always keep our peace.

Author's Note

Day West
I think this poem needs a little refining, especially the form and some of the words might not fit completely. So I'd especially like comments on that, although all comments are of course welcome.
