BloodlustA Poem by Day WestWhen your'e tired of taking the high road and just want to lash out. I experimented with conflicting stanza forms in this poem because I felt they went well with the subject matter.Sick and tired of being strong Of taking the high road Elbowing through the heavy throng Upon which I once rode Snapped back into reality, suddenly Ripped out the vitality, brutally Supposed to be mentality, probably Viped out all morality, completely Too hard to care for anything I want to inflict pain To have this great big poison sting Too long have I mute lain Spring back up to warfare, suddenly Will strike back in midair, brutally No time for you to prepare, probably Only for you to despair, completely © 2010 Day WestAuthor's Note
