Catching the flight home

Catching the flight home

A Poem by Daffy
"

Something that I really must do sometime......

"

I need to book my ticket
I should reserve a seat
I know I need to find the way
The departure lounge and meet
The people who can sign my form
And those that have the key
The ones who know the flight to take
To let my pain go free.

I need to see Saint Peter
And to find those Angels there
My penitence is nearly done
I’ve shown I really care.
My body now is ag-ed worn
My mind is truly tired
Please Lord, accept my heartfelt thanks
My life has now expired.

I wonder if the inflight music will be the '60's discs...I bet David Jacobs will be sitting on the Juke Box, and Jimmy Young will be trying to get a look in.

May we all have a smooth trip to the ever after. I love the description of yours. it's a flight we'll all have to take eventually. Nicely done Daffy.

Have you read Samuel's idea of a slow boat cruise instead?

no I have not but I will.
Don't forget that suitcase of memories.

Lovely upbeat way, (as it should be,) of looking at that flight to Heaven.

Beccy.

oh how wonderfully expressed, Daffy. book the ticket and reserve a seat. I hope it won't be before you blew out your hundredth candle. so, for now, as Samuel said, put on your dancing shoes, Woman!

Hey c'mon, you ain't ded yet! Put on your dancing shoes! Oh, I know. I'll be taking that mandatory trip, too, just like everyone else. Wouldn't an ocean vessel be slower?

A very good point Samuel, we could take an outside cabin and eat at the captains table!
What a great way to view this inevitable trip... Great write, Daffy!

Isn't it amazing? What could we do if we taught ourselves to use a fraction more!
