The Hunter

The Hunter

A Poem by Ember Smyth
"

.

"
---------
The sun
Will be gone
Forever
---------
~~~~
When
Will it be
Back
~~~~
-------
Never
-------
~~~~~
But why
Will it be gone
Cried the
Innocent fawn
~~~~~~~~~
------
And then
The Hunter
Shot her
----------
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Where is my daughter
Cried the furious
Mother
>>>>
-----------
I'm afraid
That she
Is gone
--------
>>>>
Where
Has she gone to
And as she saw
The Hunter's gun
>>>>>>>>>>
-------
Maybe
It'd be better
For you to be
With your fawn
And then
The Hunter
Shot her
----------
£%£%£%£%£%£%
Where is my family
Screamed the
Father deer
£%£%£%£
--------
Oh you
Must go see them
They're really quite near
It's not a long trip
I'll even
Give you a tip
On just how to get there
---------------------------
----------
And then
The Hunter
Stabbed him
And stabbed him again
And again
And again
And again
-----------
-------------
The Hunter
Took his prizes
Back to his home
Skinned them
And harvested
Their meat
Their heads
Up on a wall
Delusions
Soon to fall
-------------
########
Come out
With your hands up
Called
The police
######
------------------
And The Hunter
Came out
Unsure
Of what he'd done
---------------------
#########
The police found the bodies
Of a kind family
That used
To live
Next door
Their heads on a wall
Their bodies in the freezer
And twelve other bodies
As well
####

Haunting and daunting piece!
I loved the absurd story and the flow all the same!
Interesting and fun read!
Kudos!

Thank you for your review! :)
That is rather creepy. The short sentences gave a weird kind of disjointedness. I liked it though.
