Corrupt

Corrupt

A Poem by Ember Smyth

I go where you have gone
Righting those you have wronged
For all to see.
You killed my father, boy
We are not just your toys
I'll make sure you'll never bide, in our land again.

I'll make sure that you pay
That you'll never see the day
Ever again.
Soon again we will shine
And your land will be mine
I will save all of our people, even if it kills me.

Now comes the greatest day
When I will make you pay
We will be freed.
I know what you have done
Thinking you're having fun
Well it is not fun for us, when our people die.

Now that the deed is done
And there is almost none
Trust left for us.
I try to take over
Now I'm amongst clover
And justice will never come, to our quaint town.

Forgiveness is the best form of revenge. This reminded me of a quote by Martin Luther King Jr. that hate cannot drive out hate and kindness can only do that.
