Through Our Eyes

Through Our Eyes

A Poem by Ember Smyth

I look at you
You look at me
Don't you really know
What we can see
Sun sets in the east

Up is down and down is up
Sun rises in the west
Up is down and up again
Sun rises in the east

You're really a beast
In need of a feast
You think I'm that feast
And in need of a beast
Beauty and the beast

But I am no beauty
And you are a beast
You won't get a feast

Up is up and down is down
Sun rises in the east
And sets in the west
Time to travel west

Very nice imagery here. I like the use of opposites and the rhyming is awesome too :) I also like the repetition of the sun rising and setting and then the decision to move west in search of better things (I hope). Good piece :)
