Shibboleth of the Saddened Hopeful

Shibboleth of the Saddened Hopeful

A Poem by Gregory Joseph DeMartini

Awake a newfound day,
            And arise unbound to say:
“See here now, all feelings that decay!
Where air of darkness thy embellish,
There will be a light, of which one can always relish.
            For a spirit most unkind,
By love and song they shall unwind.
It is with friends and family we now bind,
And a life once lost, I can forever find.”
