Memory Of Our Love

Memory Of Our Love

A Poem by DWelling88

By chance or fate
Our paths crossed and hearts met
Quick was the fire
That our passion burned
Friends first and lovers last
Smoke lingers but desire passed

Moist soil captured a fertile seed
Young and ripe
Your flower would bloom
Chaotic and wild, life did grow
Naive was the eye, that would see
A memory of the love, between you and me

Confused and scared
Our minds in a knot
Did we love, or just love he
Holes plugged in a sinking ship
Foolish children Ill prepared for the test
Hearts mended to a degree
Where there was two, now lie three

Hands on the clock
Worked at double the speed
Consumed with the process
No time to think
Together the grew, mature was the mind
Lying in the past, children of old left behind

Broken was the home
In which he grew
Lost was the love
They both had knew
Boys fingers grasped with such might
Though they couldn't hold, all was lost to the night

Cut were the ties
That had held the two
Pain set in, deep were the wounds
Hatred for the other, fault laid with I
Bridges burnt and distain grew
One thought should be felt, and none above
To cherish and water, the memory of our love

About
I am a young man who has always had a passion for words; reading and writing them. I find the death of the written word to be a tragedy. I am young, athletic, and a masculine man. That does not mean t.. more..
