Toxic Free

Toxic Free

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

I taste the sweet words that leave your lips
As the poison drips from your tongue
Blinding me with your words untrue
Using my love as a weapon of pain
Binding me by your lies through the years
Believing in the weakness you claim
Feeling unworthy of even existing
But then that's not really true, is it
My value is greater then you admit
And your words are losing their power
As my strength begins to grow
I'm beginning to believe in myself
Not doubting that I have a lot to give
With an endless amount of love
Now your losing your hold on me
And I'm finally setting myself free
