The Heart's Rhythm

The Heart's Rhythm

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

I found my love so true
She was standing there alone
Bathed in total moon light
She knows I'm standing there
And yet she says nothing
Nothing at all to me
She begins to move slowly
Dancing around the fire
To an unheard rhythm
A beat driving her body
Moving with such grace
And a freedom unbound
She knows I'm watching
As she smiles happily
Listening to silent music
Never looking at me
She reaches out
Pulling me toward her
Without a single touch
I didn't know she did it
But now I'm dancing too
Smiling to be with her
And hearing the beat
Together we dance
We smile
We sing
We love
