Dark World

Dark World

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

Where were you when gravity failed
And the stars began to fall
The world was in turmoil
And all love forgotten
Did you hear your name in the wind
See your reflection in the sea
Understand the pain below
As the earth cried out loud
Time had lost all meaning
And emotions were crossed
As everything floated away
I stood firm and alone
Crying out your name once more
Searching everywhere for you
Just to hold you again
Just to feel your love
To let you know I care
And I never stopped searching
Now alone on this desolate world
Memories are all that remain
With my heart full of love
But no one to give it to
I'm forever chasing shadows
So lost and forgotten
As I think nevermore
What is that which I see
Another illusion or maybe
Someone has come to rescue me
