Fluid Time

Fluid Time

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

I face the onslaught of the past
Drowning in memories of old
Standing at tomorrow's door
But always looking behind
Searching for a better future
Trying to make it through the day
Wandering and wondering
Questioning many choices
But not living with regret
Though trying to catch my breath
Hanging myself with a sentimental noose
Forgetting that I'm living today
I need to escape my past
And stop looking to future
So that I can just breath.
