Weary Bones

Weary Bones

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

I stand before you battered and bruised
Struggling just to keep my feet
Been knocked down time after time
But I have always pulled myself up
Now my strength is beginning to wane
Fighting just to keep going on
Only to fall furter and further behind
Stumbling with ever step I take
Even though I know im not done
I can no longer stand on my own
So for now I'll just sit where I am
And wait as time slowly passes by
As my weary starts to wander
And my aching heart begins to slow
The day now draws to a lonely end
As I try my hardest to find my feet once again
