Reach

Reach

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

I found myself lost in thought
Trapped in my poisonous past
Searching for my way home
Trying to find that tranquil place
But I can't find a way out of here
There must be some spell to use
But I don't know this magic
And I've exhausted my search
Yet I continue this journey
Guided by my shining star
So why do I keep moving along
Because I know life is precious
Yes it can be a real challenge
When your energy stops flowing
And your always seeking love
Knowing that cupid is cruel
So instead you build walls
And keep your heart guarded
But eventually those walls will fall
And the clock will tick along
And you may not want it
But this doesn't make you weak
And letting someone in well...
That does make you breakable
But you need to remember this
That love is always a gift
So don't be afraid to try
And reach for that slice of life
