Looking to the Moon

Looking to the Moon

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

I find myself lost and alone
Midnight looking up to the sky
Searching for the moon that is gone
"What are you looking for?"
A voice from nowhere asks
"Looking for my lost love."
I slowly say as my reply
Then the mystery voice says
"So why is it that you look to the sky?"
My voice is now only wavering
"She said let the moon be your guide."
And now the unknown begins to cry
So I don't know what to say now
my voice now only a whisper
"Why is it that now you cry?"
Between the sobs the voice replies
"No one ever looks to me for love."
So now in the darkness we sit
And together we now cry as one
