Silent Screams

Silent Screams

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

I hide from the sandman
As he fights me for sleep
While its the rest I need
It's my dreams that creep
Visions of you are killing me
Are these memories true
Were you ever real
Or just make believe
Product of isolation
Creation of my own
My own tormention
A ravenous hallucination
Proof of my damnation
You are the one that is there
Never releasing your grip
Ripping me to shreds
Shattering me to pieces
I scream so loud and long
Never to be heard again
Will anyone break the silence
