BEYOND HER

BEYOND HER

A Poem by DUALFISH320

she knew that

she had me

contained

encircled

with her fire

ready to

consume me

form me

make me

empty and hollow like

trees in her

aftermath

she thought she knew

me best

and what i would need

would be her

and only her

and i became consumed

ravished

and charred

allowing myself to

be

vapors

in her smoke

but i rode through

flowing on

into

my cumulus

clouds

to be reborn

and brand new

returning to water

where i was born of

and formed in

and i became stronger than

her

because i rose above

and cooled and quenched

the fire that would have consumed us both

leaving her

BRAND NEW

as i was suppose

to do
