Drifting

Another emotion driven "poem." This ones a little bit more on the "cheery" side of the spectrum :)

I want to lay on the beach,

And breathe the salty ocean air. 

I want to drift off into the current, 

And let the waves take me somewhere. 

I want to leave every care behind,

And float till my days are done.

I want to sleep under the bright moonlight,

And wake up under the morning sun.

I want to swim deep down, 

All the way to the ocean floor. 

Where all the sunken ships are, 

So they can be seen once more. 

I will stay down there, 

And watch the sharks swim by.

I can sleep peacefully, 

And not have to cry.

I will not have to worry, 

About dumb little things. 

I can swim all day long,

And listen to my heart sing.

I would be there forever, 

Till I can go on no longer. 

And let my body rest, 

While my spirit wanders. 

My spirit would forever swim,

With all the stingrays and whales. 

And live in the ocean forever, 

While all of the ships sail....
