If Hands Were Meant For Holding

If Hands Were Meant For Holding

A Poem by DriDri

If hands
were meant for holding,
why do we, curl anger creased fingers
into fists and fight wars
we have no chance in winning.

Why do we use our minds
to shut people out,
instead of venuring to open doors,
between the wars that have been going on
I am beginning to see
if hands were meant to hold
it is weapons they shall hold
bodies they shall bury
graves they shall mold.
for each fist made
is a fight of which I grow weary
if hands were made to hold
why isn't it peace that they carry?

Beautifully put. Our hands should be use for love and creation instead of war and destruction. Very nice write. I enjoyed it.
